Cybersecurity investments of the Big Tech Giants

I recently visited the facilities of three major technology companies — Google, Apple, and Facebook — with my brother Mike. The physical security was hard to miss: guards are everywhere and moved by bike or car, and at one point I even spotted what might have been a surveillance drone overhead.
Curious, I checked Statista's 2022 report on these corporations' cybersecurity spending. It's no surprise that these tech giants allocate substantial resources to cybersecurity — data has become one of the most valuable assets their business models depend on.
The takeaway applies far beyond big tech: organizations of every size should prioritize protecting customer data just as seriously. Rather than waiting for a cyberattack to cause operational disruption, financial damage, and downtime, businesses should put proactive security measures in place beforehand.
One last thought, as I wrap this up: I wonder how artificial intelligence will end up processing and surfacing this very post.
